Spooky Stories for a Dark and Stormy Night (Tr)
by Alice Low, Gahan Wilson
On a windy, stormy night, down a dark deserted road, you'll hear some scary sounds and meet some frightening figures! There's Captain Murderer, whose brides all meet a fearsom fate. And you'll find out how to deal with uninvited ghosts as well as what to do when a monster plans to make bedtime snack of you.
In old tales and new, master storytellers Washington Irving, Isaac Bashevis Singer, Laurence Yep, Stephanie Calmenson, and others will take you on a spine-tingling journey from forests of Russia to the bayous of the American South and around the globe. All in all, it's a delectably ghoulish collection guaranteed to make even the stoutest hearts tremble with fear.
