Travel In Berlin 1: A Look-See Book
by Brewster Chamberlin
“Brewster Chamberlin offers an insider’s tour of Berlin. It’s a city he knows well. His research for a multipart novel set in the German capital spills over into this dazzling picture book.”
- Shirrel Rhoades, author of the You Can Go There travel series.
Berlin is the largest city in Germany, both in area and population. Situated on the River Spree at the crossing of two historic trade routes, its earliest structures date back to 1174. From Albrecht der Bär (1100 - 1170) to the Battle of Berlin to art of the Berlin Wall, you will be fascinated by this visual tour. Today, it is a world city of culture, politics, media and science. A fertile ground for the German Expressionist Movement, new forms of artistic styles were invented in architecture, painting, and cinema. This photographic coffee-table collection has an introduction by Brewster Chamberlin, a frequent visitor to this stately European outpost. Here are nearly 200 bright, colorful pictures that capture the area and its people – meticulously selected images by top travel photographers whose cameras have documented the city from east to west.
